I found one guy who didn't like the old Friedrich C90a because he couldn't find enough data. I broke out laughing: since the big sendup in the Oct '05 Consumer Reports ratings, C90a received huge publicity. He probably also doesn't know C90a has been superseded by the equally priced, more powerful C90b, see reviews below. Only Ionic Breeze and Oreck XL, former market leaders with enormous ad budgets, ranked better in consumer inquiries and available web resources. Most other reviews cite incorrect data, may apply furnace filter specifications to room machines, misinterpret technical specs, and generally mislead readers, often with an agenda. Of course there are many fine, technically qualified reviewers working in the industry. They know who they are, and I challenge these leaders to join me in raising the bar.
