Sharp KCC100U vs FPP60CX Airflow A reader writes; Sharp webpages canada and usa are showing that the kcc100u and the fpp60cx have the same cfm #'s exactly while the fpp unit is listed as having much higher cadr #'s. is there some error here? thanks! ========================================= Hey Reader; Sharp KCC100U CADR (Clean Air Delivery Rate) is 164/164/174 Dust/Smoke/Pollen. Sharpusa.com shows throughput at 233/109/31 CFM. You are correct - this is an error. CADR will always be a percentage of throughput in CFM. A machine with a 164 CADR and 233 CFM would be only 70% efficient, yikes! Proper air throughput for Sharp KCC100U, from the operation manual, is 194/88/28 CFM, giving 84% efficiency. Note that CADR punishes purifiers with carbon or other extra filters, and rewards HEPA-only machines with low restriction. FPP60CX CADRs are 209/213/205 D/S/P. Air flow is correctly quoted at 233/109/31 CFM. Sharp is often remiss in updating web pages and marketing material as quickly as product changes. Good luck with your purchase, and feel free to keep me advised as to results. Ed ========================
