Sharp Plasmacluster Availability

28 Aug 2009

A Reader writes:

After reviewing your very helpful site I am trying to settle on either the:

Sharp PlasmasclusterFP-N60CX air cleaner

Or the

Rabbit Air 421A

The thing is, I cannot find anyone selling the FP-N60, just the 40.

But the retailer is out and is offering an upgrade for free to the Sharp KC-C100U Plasmacluster Air Purifier.

I did not see you review this and wondered if it was the same as the 60 or 40 with the humidifier?

Is this a betterinvestment since the units are becoming hard to find?

Or would it be betterto go with the Rabbit, miss out on the Plasmascluster technology but have a 5 year warranty?

=========================================

Hey Reader;

Sharp superseded the fpn-60cx with FPP-60cx, and these are indeed getting harder to find.

FPP-40CX is now the last "dry" Plasmacluster available. FPP-60CX is officially discontinued.

Sharp is emphasizing the humidifier type machine to the detriment of the older models.

I wouldn't want to have to fill the water tank on the new humidifier-type Sharps, though it does assist the Plasmacluster oxidizer.

Rabbit Air sells good machines and is said to be easy to deal with.

Both brands are made in quality-leader Japan, this is a tossup, depending on your retailer's deal.

Good Luck

Ed
