A Reader writes: sir, would you please give me some email addresses, addresses, and or phone numbers where you have seen sharper image products. it is not justifiable to leave me without contact information. we paid hard earned money for these expensively marketed sharper image ionic breeze items, with full guarantees on them. the consumer must be offered some help with replacement of the same item or something comparable to them of equal value. when a company goes under, someone is usually there to pick up their customers. you don't just drop them and leave them to sink and forget about them. the monetary replacement should at least be offered in return for these two defective products. Hey Reader; The corporate bankruptcy process is designed to reduce liabilities, rob minor stakeholders, and consolidate the claims of creditors. Warranty claims are among the first to be sacrificed, usually in the period before bankruptcy is initiated. Sharper Image sold lots of mechanical junk, you are not alone, buyers of $5K massage chairs are also getting stiffed. At consumeraffairs.com there are 43 pages, about 500 consumers who got ripped off by Sharper Image. Ripoffreport and fixya likewise. They are not honoring any claims. Ionic Breeze was rated "70" on my site since 2005 - in the lowest category - 70 and below is "not recommended." I have heard about a class action lawsuit being brought, but I doubt if any assets will be left for any payout. From the new Sharper Image website: "Q. I bought an item from the Former Sharper Image that is broken, what do I do?A. Unfortunately, we are not able to assist you with products purchased from the Former Sharper Image Company, which filed for bankruptcy on February 19, 2008. We are a new company offering new and innovative Sharper Image products. Q. My Former Sharper Image item has time left on the Warranty, who do I contact? A. Unfortunately, we do not have any information about the warranty on items purchased from the Former Sharper Image Company, which filed for bankruptcy on February 19, 2008. For more information please click on the warranties link on the lower left hand corner of our homepage." "If you are inquiring about product warranties on former Sharper Image products, purchased prior to October 2009, we unfortunately cannot help you."
