The first image shows how the "+" pops open for filter changes. No tools are required, but the first time is a learning experience. The filter trays stack together seamlessly. Photo shows "jaws" open and main filter and V5 gas cell displayed. Prefilter is still under motor.

VOC filterThe next photo shows the V5cell carbon/potassium permanganate VOC filter. This is the heart of the plus: the photo shows the carbon arranged in rows so that air is forced through laterally. This assures even exposure, no thin spots to saturate early and ruin the filter. This arrangement is also more difficult to clog.
Health pro Plus sealsThis image shows the inside of a retainer tray with the filter removed. The red arrows highlight the 3/8 inch lip around the bottom. Rather than just sitting against a gasket,filters have a slot which mates to this lip and makes a sure seal. This air purifier has run about 90 days, and the insides are as new: no bypassed fine dust accummating.
