The next photo shows the V5cell carbon/potassium permanganate VOCfilter.

This is the heart of the plus: the photo shows the carbon arranged in rows so that air is forced through laterally. This assures even exposure, no thin spots to saturate early and ruin the filter. This arrangement is also more difficult to clog.

This image shows the inside of a retainer tray with the filter removed.

The red arrows highlight the 3/8 inch lip around the bottom.

Rather than just sitting against a gasket,filters have a slot which mates to this lip and makes a sure seal.

This air purifier has run about 90 days over five years, and the insides are as new: no bypassed fine dust accumulating.
