THIS PRODUCT DISCONTINUED AT MANY US VENDORS. DAP130 provides real HEPA purification in a price range where “almost HEPA” is the norm. Using three stages of filtration and a separately controlled ionizer, the DAP130 has a 130 CADR (Clean Air Delivery Rate) for dust, for smoke, and for pollen. Recommended room size is 200 square feet. This is remarkable in an air purification unit selling for as low as $66. A washable pre-filter, True HEPA filter (99.97% of particles as small as 0.3 microns), an activated carbon filter, and an independently switched ionizer, purify the air. The Delonghi Air Purifiers are bigger than other under-$100 units, but are light-weight and attractive. The Freshzone Dap130 uses a pop-up filter cartridge which holds all three filters in a sealed filtration system. The company claims this eliminates bypassing. This is unusual in this price range, mostly populated by inferior HEPA-type filters and very loose packaging. A filter change indicator is included. The four-speed fan is reported barely audible on the "sleep" setting, but noisy on high. The ionizer may produce ozone, and should not be run more than 30 minutes at a time. Consumer complaints center around high filter replacement costs and an easily damaged front grill. The Delonghi air purifier is about 16.14 inches wide, 10 inches deep, and 16 inches high. This 17 pound air cleaner can lie sidewise, stand up, or hang on a wall. Many vendors selling the Delonghi purifiers are drop-shipping from the manufacturer. Delivery can take a couple weeks. If delivery time is a problem, make sure your vendor actually stocks the unit.

Manufacturer has a track record, with many units in the field and a reputation for supporting what they sell. Warranty period and average service life are long. Score: 9 of 10 8. Purifier is a value in terms of price/performance ratio. Every price range should be included, “models above $1,200 are best”, while true, is not useful to most consumers. No dirt; unit and manufacturer should be devoid of class-action suits, high returns, recalls, consumer complaints, and legitimate negative consumer reviews.
