RE: Airgle 750 vs IQAir HealthPro in Current Market Conditions

I am finding itvery helpful as I research air purifiers.

I'm looking primarily for excellent particulate cleaning (dust mites, mold spores, pollens).

After reading about it on your site, I am interested in the Airgle 750 - am vacillating between the IQAir HealthPro Plus and the Airgle.

The automation of the Airgle and lower decibels per cfm is swaying me toward that manufacturer.

I am a little hesitant about it since it has a shorter warranty and is made in China.

Have you had feedback from readers about the performance and durability of this machine?

How long has it been on the market?

Airgle is an impressive machine, but vs IQAir it is a no-show.

I recommend the IQ hands down.

If we weren't in a contracting market, with 2010 still quite uncertain, then a newbie from the east might get the nod.

You are the first reader to mention the 750. Airgle's flagship is reviewed enthusiastically here for it's high power combined with automation.

A couple months ago I asked your question of Steven Hong, President of web vendor Sylvane.com. He replied that sales of the Airgle 750 were too slow for him to form an opinion on durability and returns....

His opinion counts heavily with me.

And right now I'd avoid anything pricey manufactured on the mainland, the vast Chinese stimulus bubble (like USA) could collapse.

I'd go with proven quality, large installed base, and guaranteed support - A $1000 air purifier should be a lifetime investment.

My 2004 model IQ HealthPro Plus still runs perfect, have replaced prefilter and V5 cell, but original HEPA still shows green.

I'd also consider the Blueair 650E, a sensor driven machine with a good reputation re particulate, before the Airgle 750 for similar reasons.
